The Silver Sky was born from years of collaboration between John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith, with a clear goal: capture the soul of a great 1963–1964 single-coil guitar while refining it for modern players. Every curve, contour and component was studied, tested and reworked until it met Mayer’s standards on stage. The inverted PRS headstock isn’t just visual flair, it improves string pull and tuning stability while keeping the feel familiar. It’s a thoughtful redesign rather than a copy, delivering vintage character with PRS-level consistency and build quality.
The trio of PRS 635JM single-coils are voiced for warmth, clarity and musical balance. They offer a full low end, rich midrange and a sweet top end that avoids the brittle edge often associated with traditional single-coils.
