Multiple connectivity options

The DI box offers an onboard variable pan knob which attenuates the signal all the way from -3dB to -30dB. This is capable of controlling any instrument input source. The DI boxes also offer a Thru jack which allows the user to send the instrument signal to a second-place alongside the recording device. This is ideal in live environments, where the signal can simultaneously be sent to an amplifier.

The importance of a DI box

DI boxes are crucial in both live and studio applications. The DI box converts the high impedance, unbalanced output signals to low impedance, balanced output signals. In doing this, the instrument's signal is now ready for recording devices and PA systems. This, therefore, reduces connections that have the potential to cause tonal shifts and distortion.

Active design

The active design of the DI box offers a range of benefits to the user. Being active, the DI box is best for instruments with passive pickups, especially acoustic instruments. However, the DI box can also perform in passive mode at the flick of the switch, which is ideal for balancing the signal of instruments with active electronics.
