The AMP1 was launched back in 2015, becoming hugely popular for its compact size and extensive tonal possibilities. Over the years, Thomas Blug has constantly tweaked, researched, and enhanced the AMP1, using his own gigging experience and user feedback to deliver the perfect improvements. This is now available with the AMP1 Mercury Edition.
Each of the amp's channels have been improved for a tighter, more defined performance, while ensuring you get extra warmth and clarity for a truly captivating performance. The increase in dynamics in the modern channel is ideal for contemporary metal tones, while more punch and bite are added to the high-gain sounds in the classic and modern channels. The AMP1's reverb has also been redesigned, adding extra dimensions and depth to your performance.
Shape and Create your own Signature Tone
Even though the Mercury Edition offers an enhanced version of the AMP1, you still get the same diverse tonal palette and professional performance as the original. Designed to fully recreate the power and characteristics of vintage tube amps, the AMP1 takes you from warm, rounded jazz tones to full-on heavy metal soundscapes. Its four-channel setup provides you with incredible detail and response. With a choice between clean, vintage, classic, and modern sounds, you can dial in your own signature performance with excellent precision.
The clean channel gives you that classic clean sound you'd find on an American amp. If you push the clean channel hard, you'll achieve a nice break up - much like a vintage tube amp. The vintage channel gives you that raunchy, smokey, dirty soul character which was prominent in 60s jazz and rock. Think the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. If you want that iconic British rock sound that was pushed to its limit by bands like Black Sabbath, then you'll love the classic channel. This is where you'll find crunchy rhythms and screaming solos. Lastly, the modern channel gives you all the gain and tonal variety you need to go from warm, creamy soundscapes to the expressive and abusive tones ideal for metal.
Take Your Amp Anywhere
Not only does is deliver a high-quality and an incredibly versatile performance, the AMP1 is also extremely practical. With its compact size and light weight, the AMP1 can fit right inside your gig bag for easy transportation. The BluGuitar amp also comes with their intuitive Easylock magnetic attachment system. This lets you securely fix and remove the AMP1 from your pedalboard and amp cab, ensuring you pedal amp stays where you want it - even during extreme live shows.
A Straight Forward and Expandable Performance
A great aspect of the AMP1 is its straight forward and easy to use functions. You'll be able to create a wide variety of sounds quickly and on-the-fly without the need to scroll through endless sub menus or worry about secondary functions. If you desire more than two basic sounds, you can always expand the AMP1's capabilities with the optional Remote1 and Looperkit - giving you more control and tonal options.
