The body of each SG Standard starts with a foundation of solid mahogany tonewood shaped into a thin asymmetrical style, recognisable as an icon due to its doublecut 'horns' and beveled edges which provide playing comfort.

The neck of the SG Standard is constructed from solid mahogany, using 'quarter sawn' orientation for improved strength and resonance. The rounded neck profile is much like that of the beloved mid '60s SGs, offering you a smooth playing feel and superb speed.

The warm, rich and responsive tone from Rosewood makes it the perfect fingerboard material. Offering clear and tight bass projection without overshadowing sparkling midrange or trebles, the 24 medium-jumbo frets are adorned with trapezoidal inlays, echoing the look of the '60s SG Standard. In keeping with the stripped-down ethos, there is no pickguard and both body and fingerboard remain unbound.

The Vintage Sunburst finish gives the 60s Tribute an appearance in keeping with its history. The nitrocellulose lacquer produces a finish that breathes with the guitar and enhances natural resonance, encourages a purer tone.

Equipped with a pair of PAF-style BurstBucker humbucking pickups, one at the neck and a slightly hotter one at the bridge, the SG exhibits some of the most accurate recreations of vintage PAF humbuckers available today. Following Seth Lover's formula, they include a genuine Alnico II bar magnet in each pickup giving more punch, providing an overall sound that can be juicy, warm with outstanding clarity in neck position yet switched to a wailing overdrive with near-infinite sustain in bridge position.

Individual volume controls and tone controls are used for each pickup, which use high-quality linear potentiometers. A three-way toggle switch pickup selector also features along with a set of genuine Grover kidney button tuners.

Mini-ETune Technology

The Min-ETune™ is a compact battery-powered tuning unit that sits on the back of the headstock and is hardly visible from the front of the guitar. You can still adjust the tuning manually, but now you can turn on the Min-ETune to choose from twelve popular tunings or program six of your own. It tunes your guitar in just three seconds and one strum, and can even adjust to other instruments' imperfect tuning with Reference Tuning.
