Classic swoosh with modern edge
The Chicago Flanger delivers the unmistakable sweep that made flanger a staple of 70s rock and 80s new wave. It captures that rich, jet-like whoosh used by guitar icons to add motion and space to everything from clean arpeggios to saturated solos. Whether you’re after the slow, drifting swirl of vintage ballads or the sharper pulse found in modern alt-rock and experimental tones, this pedal nails the sound while staying tight and controlled. It’s a great way to bring movement and atmosphere into your playing without overpowering your core tone.
Hands-on control for sweeping tone
Three knobs give you full command over the effect. The Colour control adjusts resonance, adding bite or softening the sweep. Rate determines how fast the modulation moves, from slow wave-like movement to fast, pulsing flutters. Range sets the intensity, letting you decide how deep the sweep goes. Together, these controls let you tailor the flanger effect to fit any mood or genre, whether you’re looking for subtle background shimmer or full-on swirling psychedelia.
Switchable modes for added creativity
A simple toggle switch lets you flip between Normal and Freeze modes. Normal gives you the traditional flanger movement, rising and falling modulation that moves with your playing. Freeze locks the sweep in place, producing a static, droning flange that adds a unique layer beneath your sound. It’s great for ambient textures, sustained chords, or pushing your tone into synth-like territory without extra gear.
Built to last, ready to play
The Chicago Flanger is housed in a sturdy metal chassis, tough enough for life on stage or in the studio. It runs on a standard 9V DC centre-negative power supply and draws minimal current, just 4mA, making it easy to integrate into any pedalboard setup. With true bypass switching, it also ensures your dry tone stays untouched when the pedal is off, so you can switch in and out of effects without any signal loss.
