Authentic Mark-style cleans and gain
The IICP module focuses on the qualities that defined the original amplifier’s reputation. The clean channel delivers a Fullerton-influenced voice known for clarity, sparkle and precise midrange structure.
Pushing the lead channel introduces the thick, mid-saturated distortion long associated with classic hard rock tones. Fryette’s involvement ensures these voices behave as expected, maintaining tight attack and smooth sustain even at higher gain levels. The result is a broad palette that supports both articulate rhythm work and expressive lead lines.
Automatic cathode profiling for each channel
Instead of a manual cathode selector, the IICP employs an internal system that assigns the ideal tube response to each channel. This approach preserves the distinct feel of the original design, where cleans exhibit a firm and balanced response while lead tones shift toward a more saturated and dynamic character. The automatic system keeps performance predictable and removes the need for configuration. It also ensures the two channels never drift into the same behaviour, keeping contrast clear and musically useful.
Five-band graphic EQ with auto-assign
The 5-band graphic EQ shapes the tone with the precision many fans associate with early Mark-series amplifiers. The Auto Assign switch determines how the EQ is used across the channels, delivering mid cuts, boosted presence or tightened low end as needed.
A front-panel clip indicator provides a visual reference when extreme settings start to push the EQ. Occasional flashing indicates normal operation, while constant lighting suggests that Master controls might be set too high. Reducing them slightly restores headroom without altering the character of the tone.
Practical controls in a compact format
Clean channel controls include Volume, Master, Brite and Shift. The lead channel adds Lead Gain, Lead Volume and its own Brite and Shift switches for finer adjustment. Global Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence controls shape both channels, keeping the module quick to dial in.
Two 12AX7 valves supply the harmonic richness expected from tube circuitry. Installation is simple thanks to Synergy’s modular format, allowing the IICP module to slot into compatible docks without additional setup. The result is a powerful, flexible tool for players wanting classic Mark-style tones in a streamlined package.
