MiniFreak’s core sound engine uses two digital oscillators that each offer a choice of over 30 different sound types. These range from virtual analog and wavetable to FM, ring modulation, speech models and more. You can run each oscillator separately, stack them or use one to process the other’s output. Each of the six voices is shaped through a polyphonic analog filter, adding warmth and responsiveness that balances the digital precision. This approach supports both standard sounds and experimental ones, allowing rich pads, sharp leads, glitch textures or evolving soundscapes to be built with ease.
MiniFreak provides deep modulation tools without becoming complicated. Its modulation matrix supports seven sources and thirteen destinations, including envelopes, LFOs and performance inputs. Each voice comes with two LFOs, a standard ADSR envelope and a cycling envelope. You can also customise your LFO curves and introduce movement using FM, ring modulation or filter shaping. The effects section includes three separate slots, each with a range of options like delay, reverb, chorus, distortion and EQ. These can be used in send or insert mode, giving flexible routing for subtle shaping or bold transformations. With stereo outputs, your sound stays ready for mixdown or live sets straight from the synth.
The 37-note Slim-key keybed is responsive and expressive, offering velocity and aftertouch to bring your playing to life. A built-in 64-step sequencer with four lanes of automation allows quick pattern building and dynamic modulation over time.
