Key Features
The Doepfer A-103 18dB Low Pass Filter is an authentic recreation of a classic 303-style filter in modular format for Eurorack synthesizers. A transistor-ladder-style filter, the A-103 is perfectly suited for crafting the signature sound of Acid House, applying the subtle crunch and harmonics that is synonymous with the genre.
Jam-packed into an 8HP module, the Doepfer A-103 includes three CV inputs, with CV1 utilising 1V/Oct standard. Driving the resonance to the maximum into self-oscillation, this control allows you to patch pitch signals in and use the A-103 as its own dedicated sine wave generator.
Ideal for live performers, the Doepfer A-103 boasts a smooth frequency cut-off which subtly rounds out the low-end of your signal to maintain the punch even under extreme resonance. From squelching bass to dynamic drum sweeps, the A-103 is the ultimate companion for the modern producer or live performer seeking to recreate the classic sound of the mid to late '80s.

Instantly recognisable, the sound of Acid House is a slightly crunchy, booming low end with the signature squelchy attack. These characters in combination with a bass line are the building blocks on which Acid House is built. It's appropriate for the Doepfer A-103 to emulate this signature sound exactly to create a familiar sound within your Eurorack synthesizer. The frequency cut-off is smooth and seamless with no jumps between values and no dead spots, rounding out the excessive bottom end of your signal with a subtle clipping that adds the signature crunchy you're looking for. Boosting the resonance of the A-103 is where the module starts to come to life. You'll be greeted with a touch of added harmonics that helps give your sound the definitive cut to be heard above a dense mix of drums, pads and any other instruments in your arrangement.
An often overlooked aspect of Eurorack synth design is a low-pass filter. They provide you with a wealth of unique tonal shaping options from subtle and smooth to harsh and resonant. The A-103 Low Pass Filter is no different. Offering a wide frequency sweep, you have complete control over your filtering, from adjusting the frequency to adding in a tremendous level of low-end resonance you can transform virtually any signal. Beef up kick drums, tame harsh sawtooth leads or use as a creative tool for euphoric build-ups, the A-103 can do it all.
Featuring a sweepable resonance dial, you can now drive your signal even harder and into self-oscillation to add texture and grit to your tone. This is the perfect solution for transforming thin and anaemic lead lines to a weighty, full-bodied tone that can help add movement and energy to your music.
