With two engines that drive Parallel Aggressor, you have a wide variety of tonal shaping options and sonic colouration that can take your sound from dull and lifeless to professional and punchy.
At the core of Parallel Aggressor is the Heat and Spank engines, where Heat adds in the flavour of an authentically modelled analog saturation unit and Spank uses proprietary compression algorithms to enhance your attack and punch, virtually any sound source could benefit from the character of Parallel Aggression. With different styles per engine, Parallel Aggressor gives you the options to change the character of your Spank and Heat engine to tailor your effects to your sound source. Not just limited to individual instruments or bus groups, Parallel Aggressor can take a seat on your Master bus and work its magic on your entire mix.
Not just a marketing claim, the analog modelling has been taken from classic vintage gear, carefully crafting naturally occurring behaviours such as frequency response curves, noise level and saturation into these plugins to give you a huge array of sonic colouration.

Modelled after the punchy sound of '90s NYC-style compressors, the Spank engine adds a ferocious attack to your sound. When used conservatively, you can subtly enhance the transients of your sound, letting it cut through your mix naturally. Crank the Spank up and this is ideal for electronic dance music producers to give your sampled drums a superhuman amount of punch that rattles the speakers and is sure to get your audience dancing through the night.
For added flexibility, Parallel Aggressor has some hidden tricks up its sleeve to change the sound of your compression algorithm. An Extra Punch button does exactly as you'd expect, unleashing a more aggressive transient response as well as changing the envelope for a more punchy sound, ideal for weak drums or percussion. Additionally, an Extra Smack button changes the internal ratio of the compressor setting, transforming the sound too over-the-top aggressive! Within this engine, a Sidechain Filter lets you preserve the low-end of your signal when sidechained against another input for a cleaner and more precise sound. Lastly, a convenient Mono button lets you monitor your sound in Mono to check how it will sound on other systems.
If the Spank engine is the meat, the Heat engine is the seasoning. Authentically and meticulously modelled after an analog saturation unit, the Heat adds an aggressive sizzle and bite to your sound. You can expect to find all the sonic colouration come to life when turning up the heat in Parallel Aggressor. Wherever you have a lifeless, dull sound, add some Heat and bring it out of the boiler and into the frying pan.
Similar to the Spank engine, the Heat engine features two additional tone controls that shape the character of your sound. An Extra Hot button activates a second, dirtier distortion algorithm that sits on top of your existing saturation for complete sonic destruction. Additional tone-shaping can be done with the Tone button that shapes the tone of the distorted signal for more mid-range bite. To keep your signal clean with the heavy amount of distortion that can be applied, a High-pass filter and Low-pass filter are also present.
