El Clapo

Add realism with Slop parameter

Everyone's timing and rhythm are different and that will almost always be apparent when asking a large group to stomp along to a beat. With this in mind, Boz has included the Slop parameter to authentically simulate different synchronisation levels in your performances. When set to 0, all percussion hits will trigger simultaneously, delivering an exceptionally tight and precise performance. This can be extremely useful for pop producers looking for an extra layer of dynamic to their beats that is quantised to the grid and perfectly in time with your beats. Turning the Slop level up will simulate hits falling slightly before and after the beat by using intelligent playback algorithms. When producing more vibey and characterful jingles or anthemic songs, turning up the Slop parameter can give more life and vibrancy to your performance, making it seem more authentic and natural.

Three layers of ambience to chose from

Typical to most recording sessions, each percussion hit in this bundle was recorded using three microphones, giving you a wide range of sounds to choose from when adding percussion to your productions. Firstly, a "Close" channel provides you with a mix knob that when set to zero will deliver a dry sound with a strong snap however blending this channel up will add in the mid microphone, adding ambience and softening the attack of your hits. Next, a "Room" channel mixes between stereo room samples and the close/mid microphone channels. The Room channel opens up the decay of the tone and softens the attack of each hit, creating a more cohesive sound. For post-production projects and soundtracks, blending in more of the Room channel is the ultimate solution for capturing the larger than life sound of a sizable crowd stomping in tandem.
