Featuring a three-dimensional approach to recording, the Sphere L22 microphone captures all the spatial nuances, proximity effect and off-axis response for a wide range of microphones. Essentially, the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 allows you to achieve a wide range of microphone sounds with just one single microphone. Before and after tracking the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 offers a selection of different mics and patterns to choose from. Now audition the sound of the vocalist by changing the polar patterns and more without having to keep the vocalist in the studio.

Stereo recording with a single microphone

Custom designed for 3D modeling to capture the three-dimensional sound field, the Sphere L22 provides you with accurate microphone modeling and precise detail. There's no need to carry around a big box of microphones anymore as the L22 provides various sounds of different microphones in a complete package of one microphone.

Unlimited flexibility (before and after)

The Sphere plug-in provides you with flexibility to change and edit your microphone choice, polar pattern and off-axis characteristics both before and after your recording. No need to worry about having to go back into the recording room to fix a mic position or stop the vocalists halfway through, as the Sphere plug-in lets you do this at any time.

Polar pattern modelling

As the Sphere L22 captures the three-dimensional response of target microphones, it can accurately emulate the polar patterns and other characteristics of unique vintage microphones. Use the Sphere plug-in to precisely edit polar patterns and other off-axis characteristics with a visually informative polar metre that displays the level and direction of sound being picked up.

Important update regarding compatibility

As of 16/12/20, UAD plugins, Apollo interfaces and LUNA are now compatible with MacOS Big Sur. Universal Audio are still in the process of ensuring that their products are optimised to work with Apple computers that feature M1 silicon chips. It is also important to know before updating/upgrading that MacOS Big Sur is only compatible with Thunderbolt and PCIE-based devices. This means that UA FireWire devices are now incompatible. Overhauled design

The Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo MKII features a completely new design, with the next-generation Apollo A/D and D/A conversion revamped for improved dynamic range and ultra-low THD. The 2x6 Thunderbolt configuration delivers exceptional clarity and depth when it comes to your recordings, retaining the natural harmonic qualities while bringing out the best from your source material. The clarity and warmth of the Twin Duo MKII can be found on hit recordings from Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar and more. The dual real-time DSP on-board processors provide exceptional audio performance, allowing you to use a wide range of plug-ins, opening up a range of options for analog sound and added colour.

Unison mic preamp emulation technology

The Unison technology lets you record at near-zero latency through a range of preamp emulations such as the UA 610-B Tube Preamp (included). The resulting tone is an authentic analog sound unmatched by other audio interfaces. The Unison technology is also found on the front panel Hi-Z instrument inputs, providing the best impedance and gain matching for guitar and bass amp models for the most popular manufacturers.

Optimised workflow

The ergonomic layout of the Apollo Twin Duo MKII, Thunderbolt is designed to improve your overall workflow as well as the monitoring functionality. New Mono, Mute, DIM and ALT monitor controls have been included, streamlining your monitoring process. A built-in talkback mic also allows you to communicate with your recording artists, allowing you to give them cues and other instructions on-the-fly. Additionally, the Apollo Twin MKII comes complete with the Realtime Analog Classics UAD Plug-In bundle.

LUNA

New to 1.1: The latest update from the LUNA is the gift that keeps on giving! Versions is an incredible addition. This handy feature allows you to keep on top of the production process and track your progress as you go. You'll be able to create "bookmarks" to highlight significant milestones which can easily be referred back to at any stage. What's more, mixing and editing just got easier with all-new track groupings. This feature will streamline your workflow, allowing you to work quickly whilst still being precise. The inclusion of a redesigned MIDI clock output enables you to effortlessly integrate your favourite grooveboxes and workstations. It is also now possible to drag and drop MIDI files directly from virtual instruments!

Work the way you want with LUNA technology. Universal Audio built their DAW, LUNA, from the ground up. Their aim, was to bring audio recording into a new era. Following a high-quality range of vintage emulations and innovative plugins, it is obvious that Universal Audio don’t settle for second best and strive to give you their all. LUNA is no exception. You'll be free to integrate your favourite DSP powered plugins when recording, completely free of latency. Thanks to accelerated real time modelling, you'll also be provided with analog style recording and overdubbing via your Apollo's on-board DSP acceleration.

With a highly realistic Steinway Model B piano, Moog Minimoog emulation, a wide array of premium samples from Spitfire Audio, and unlimited track count. You'll have nothing holding you back from making the greatest sounding records of your life.
